Upper Hutt Hire Ltd has been announced as a finalist in the 2017 NZ Workplace Health and Safety Awards, in the small business category.

“It’s a great thrill for us” said Upper Hutt Hire Managing Director Garry Bull. “We’ve spent considerable time and effort to understand and control many of the risks around our site. At the same time we’ve also been working towards reducing the risks to our customers through a focus on H&S when buying new equipment, and better instructions for use” he said.

Upper Hutt Hire is a finalist in the ‘Site Safe best health and safety initiative by a business of no more than 50 staff’ category, along with Fairfield School (Levin) and King Country Energy.

The awards are organised by Thomson Reuters, published of Safeguard magazine, and proudly supported by Worksafe New Zealand.

The winner of each of the 12 categories, along with the overall winner, will be announced at a gala dinner at the Skycity Convention Centre in Auckland on the 31st May 2017.
